The Communist Manifesto

I chose the article “The Communist Manifesto” which is originally a book by Karl Marx, the founder of communism. Throughout the article, it addresses what communism is, how it was created, as well as how it’s still being used today through the ideas of others. The book is used as a way to help cope with some of the critiques of our new era capitalistic society. In the book, Karl Marx writes that the system itself would collapse on itself due to the fact of how peoples’ minds work; people would end up revolting. Karl Marx personally believes that the goal of communism is for people to work together in unity while getting the same pay or goal. In some countries today, communism is still in use such as China and North Korea. However, even in capitalistic societies, people still have a belief in such communist ways. Such as in the example provided which states people revolting through the wages needed in Chicago which aren’t equal to everyone else’s wages in other states or cities. Karl Marx’s book isn’t about expansion of communism, but rather about equality and democracy.

In my eyes, this article is intriguing due to how society works and how it would work throughout the communist idea. However, it would be horrific to be in a society where this exist like in China. I’m surprised that the large amount of people is still under control through communism. Why haven’t they ended up overthrowing the whole communist idea? The idea of communism is still used throughout our American society in the ways of the people. People are petitioning for equality in wages and certain jobs. An example of this is how women are petitioning to be apart of other manly jobs and have the same wages for the exact same job men are doing. This article show’s our society as a whole since it’s a critique of politics as well as economy, but communism would collapse on itself if the people were granted too much.
