How Schools are prepared

For my next interview I asked to Ms. Pilisi to explained me and sent me some articles that were pretty interesting to understand more about what happens to schools when face with extreme situations like shootings.

So basically what she explained to me was that schools are prepared in different ways and actually schools in the USA make simulations some times to provide examples to students of what they need to do when they present some situations like this ones. So what I read and also what Ms. Pilisis explained that there are in most of the schools three main instructions that every teacher and students need to know: Run, Hide, or Fight.

With these rules basically at the beginning of a shooting, when you hear shots fire you need to run the fastest you can until you approach to the nearest exit then use your phone to call the cops. The second option if you can’t run is hide, this rule basically you need if it is possible hide in a room and barricade the door with chairs, tables shelves etc. and stay inside until you see that it is safe to get out. And the last option is to fight and with this if you are in a vulnerable position you would need to fight for your life, it doesn’t matter if you need to harm the teen you need to do the possible to take the gun away from him or her.

With a brief explanation that we just saw is one of the ways that schools can prevent a catastrophe event like this ones, Mis, Pilisi also sent me some other Articles that explain some of the organizations that are against school shootings and that support schools giving advices like this main rules to keep students and teachers safe.
