Thoughts on Engagement 
For my engagement on plastic pollution I would really like to advertise ways to help stop plastic pollution. I would like to make flyers expressing how plastic pollution is affecting the environment and how each individual can help. I would like to post them around the city and on social medias to spread the word. Plastic is accumulating in the ocean, killing marine animals and effecting wildlife and humans. If animals keep dying at this speed, species could continue going extinct. A lot of the fish that die from plastic are part of the food we eat. polluting the ocean is killing a major part of our food source and I believe that if people are aware of the consequences and solutions they would do their part to help. Not only is the plastic effecting our food but also our ocean, animals, and our health. To stop the major plastic accumulating people burn their plastic causing toxic gasses to be released in the air, this threats human and animals health. These flyers will show people things they can do to help. For example you can use reusable bags and straws instead of plastic ones. 

To get more information I would like to talk to people with experience, I want to reach out to a clean up crew called Ocean Clean Up to ask them how much plastic they have cleaned up and what they usually find. This group has a website and they are a very large group of scientists and volunteers who have cleaned up a large number of plastic in the ocean. They have had the largest clean up in history. I would also like to talk to a people who have a Galveston house to ask if they see a lot of plastic on the beaches, how they think it has gotten their, and what type of plastic they usually find. I am thinking of talking to Paige Penches who is a school parent and a family friend of mine. I also would like to talk to Lisa Gross, who is a school parent. She has a house on Galveston beach and has participated in a cleanup. I want to get their views and their experience. These three people will hopefully get me the information I need to finish my flyers so I can motivate people to help out.

Gabriel Han Sep 16 IHSS Cultural Anthropology Blog I read an article about the Dead Sea Scrolls, and a study around them conducted by MIT. The Dead Sea Scrolls are a series of ancient Hebrew texts that were discovered in 1947. The study was focused on one scroll known as the Temple scroll, out of the 900 or so scrolls. Further Investigation of Immigration

Andreas Cantu Mr. Roddy IHSS 12 April 2020 Chinese Immigration  Between the years 1845 and 1855 the US saw a massive influx of chinese immigrants. This was due to the gold rush in California. Chinese immigrants would leave the friends and family in search of a better life with more opportunities in America, and gold rush gave them their best shot at making it big in America. Although they had hopes to join the gold mining most of them took jobs with coal mining companies for little to no commision. This was huge problem for the immigrants, because it made life in America very difficult. As time went on they had begun opening up small business wherever they could, this helped them integrate their culture into the American culture and help them feel more at home. Thoughts on Engagement

After doing the research for my challenge project on kill and no kill animal shelters, I have decided that I want to find a way to educate people on the internet without stating any form of opinion in order to be informative without being offensive. What I want to do is make a website that will have information both good and bad on kill and no kill animal shelters in an effort to educate the public on the matter. many people will for blind opinions on specifically kill shelters as they don't do the research and end up attacking people without any information on the matter. This is something that people need to know about because it is important that people who are thinking about adopting an animal know what they are getting in to before they do so impulsively.
