Socialization- The process of adapting to a culture while living in it. At this stage they would learn roles, language, and norms. An example of socialization would be how people living in India would primarily speak Hindu and cricket is likely to be their favorite sport, while in the US we primarily speak English and are most likely to have football as our favorite sport.
Linguistics- Linguistics is the study of the study, function, and history of language. An example of a linguist is Ferdinand de Saussure who laid out the foundation for many important developments in linguistics such as the development of linguistic theory which is a branch if linguistics asking what language is such as how it works, if it exists at all, how language relates to other cognitive processes, how universal grammar operates, and what its unique properties are.
