Reasons English Speakers Struggle to Learn English
This article starts by talking about how many languages inanimate objects have genders. Learning the genders for every word makes it more difficult because English doesn’t have genders for objects. It also talks about how in some languages there are multiple words for the, you, and there are way more conjugations for verbs. I feel like it would be weird to call something like a table, she or he. Something that I want to know, is how did languages with gendered objects decide what the gender of everything is. From my experience with learning Spanish, the hardest thing for me was trying to learn all the different verb conjugations. All the different verbs in other languages are way more confusing to learn than the ones in English. In Spanish class, we spent most of the year just trying to learn conjugations. After all, that time learning the conjugations I still don’t know most of them.
