CP Engagement

For my Challenge Project Engagement I will be targeting the Post Oak school as my community of choice. I will spread awareness of abortion and also where you can safely get an abortion. I was planning on making an info graphic with four abortion facts sections: worldwide abortion facts, country abortion facts, state abortion facts and city abortion facts. In the city facts I will be sure to include how our governor has used this pandemic as an excuse to outlaw abortions for the time being. I will also include a part about some Planned Parenthood facts and then the address for two clinics in Houston that provide abortion services. As well as maybe some tabs on the bottom that you can rip off with the Planned Parenthood phone number to schedule and appointment. I am deciding to target the school as my community because I think this is an important underrated issue that I want my community to be aware of. Because of the pandemic preventing us from doing a lot of person to person interaction, I was planning on spreading my info graphic by hanging up some flyers in my neighborhood just to spread the awareness a little more but also see if the school would be willing to put this up on the website or even better if they would post this on the Post Oak Instagram so many of the kids will be able to see this. I think this is an important issue that people my age should know more about so they can think about what their beliefs are for this issue as well as how it could influence their political views in the future.

Gabriel Han Sep 16 IHSS Cultural Anthropology Blog I read an article about the Dead Sea Scrolls, and a study around them conducted by MIT. The Dead Sea Scrolls are a series of ancient Hebrew texts that were discovered in 1947. The study was focused on one scroll known as the Temple scroll, out of the 900 or so scrolls. Andreas Cantu Mr. Roddy IHSS 12 April 2020 Chinese Immigration  Between the years 1845 and 1855 the US saw a massive influx of chinese immigrants. This was due to the gold rush in California. Chinese immigrants would leave the friends and family in search of a better life with more opportunities in America, and gold rush gave them their best shot at making it big in America. Although they had hopes to join the gold mining most of them took jobs with coal mining companies for little to no commision. This was huge problem for the immigrants, because it made life in America very difficult. Thoughts on Engagement

After doing the research for my challenge project on kill and no kill animal shelters, I have decided that I want to find a way to educate people on the internet without stating any form of opinion in order to be informative without being offensive. What I want to do is make a website that will have information both good and bad on kill and no kill animal shelters in an effort to educate the public on the matter. many people will for blind opinions on specifically kill shelters as they don't do the research and end up attacking people without any information on the matter.
