Challenge Project- Action Plan

The original idea for my challenge project was live music in relation to happiness. With the current corona virus problem, the music industry has almost shut down. No live shows are happening and musicians are suffering everywhere. I could possibly slightly shift my problem to this current issue. While obviously no live shows are happening, I could get in contact with smaller venues to see how they are paying their bills. Places like the Toyota center are obviously not at risk, but smaller venues are. I could also contact the mayor or governors office to see what they are thinking. While I don't believe reaching out will be hard, engaging will. I am struggling to come up with ideas to engage with this issue.

The live music industry is a pretty in-person thing and I will have to come up with other ideas. This could look like online calls, online flyers, or supporting local acts. There is not much we can do to get rid of this virus beside staying home, so live music will have to wait. There have been living room concerts and many musicians are starting to stream online using twitch to make some money. This could issue in a whole new way to bring music to even more people. Ethics issues arise with free streaming. There always has been questions about free streaming services, such as Spotify, but supporting local music acts in many ways is very important. Time will tell how long we spend at home and we are banned from large groups. There is nothing quite like being at a live show, and we will all just have to wait until we can all get back together.
